Introduction

There is no better peace in this world than to find a quiet place and spend your time. So today, I would take this opportunity to talk about one such place where I often go and spend my time.

Where it is? & How you knew it?

It is the Central State Library located in Sector 17, Chandigarh. The libraries in the past were considered merely store houses of books and the librarians were custodian; but over the years the Chandigarh State Library has become a service institution. I know it because I go there with my grandfather who is a renowned punjabi novelist.

How often you go there?

I go to the library every Saturday. Since the library is not too far from my home so we travel on foot to reach there. But sometimes my father drops us to the library on his way to the office. We often spend 5-6 hours of our day taking notes and exploring literary works in the library.

What you do there?

As a fanatical book lover, State Library is a treasure trove for me. It is a beehive of intellectual activities. Mostly I go there and read Technology related journals. There is always a pin-drop silence so you can sit and study in peace. Furthermore, I get a great help in completing college assignments from resources present in the library.

Explain why you like the place?

I like this place because of one simple fact, It is PEACEFUL. The tranquility of the library drives deep thinking and hence I am able to contemplate on my career goals. Moreover, there is plethora of opportunities for social interaction. I get to meet a lot of Bibliophiles at the library.

Conclusion

In the end I would just say that… We are now living in a chronically busy society which is mobilising 24*7 and it’s hard to find peace. But as Albert Einstein said, the only thing you absolutely have to know is the location of a library.
