When & where did you eat it?

Last week, it happened at my aunt’s house to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. The aroma of the meal being prepared kept my nose engrossed throughout most of the day as we spoke about everything that had happened since our last get-together. When it came time for supper, we were invited to the table, which was quite nice because I was already crazy with the thought of something new, something out of my normal routine.

With whom you had the meal?

Our two families sat together to enjoy the meal.

Why do you think it was unusual?

Fried rice, a traditional component of any feast, was served by my aunt before the roasted chicken was brought out. The chicken was roasted brown and has exquisite spices, one that I never tasted anywhere. The rice was perfectly cooked but not overly fatty. Both looked unusual but fantastic, so without spending any more time, I snatched up a big chicken drumstick from my platter and some rice.

I sliced a sizeable piece of it with the fork and knife in my hand and put it in my mouth. The flesh was delicious and delicate on the inside, despite the nice crunchy exterior crust. I observed that she had also served shrimp, which were similarly delicious, as I excitedly continued to eat.

After over an hour, we had all finished our meals and I kept praising my aunt for an unusually wonderful meal. I stayed with them for an additional hour. I once more thanked my aunt for the delicious supper as I was leaving. Frankly speaking, I will never forget that particular meal I had.
