Introducing an important special event

• So today, I would take this opportunity to talk about my most loved event.

What the event was?

• In India, one of the most significant events is Diwali or the Festival of Lights.
• It’s a five-day celebration that includes good food, fireworks, coloured sand, and special candles and lamps.
• People all over the country have different interpretations of the event. But there’s one common theme no matter where people celebrate: the victory of good over evil.

When & where did you celebrate?

• So last year, I joined my family and friends to celebrate the event at an orphanage home near our home.

I’ve been to several events in my life, including weddings and festivals. In reality, I’ve attended a number of weddings with my pals. But I’d want to focus on Diwali, India’s most important festival, which is celebrated with zeal.

I recall how we used to spruce up our houses a month before the particular holiday. We went out and got gifts for our loved ones. Last year, though, was different. We didn’t light any fireworks to contribute to pollution reduction.
