Here’s the sample answer to Describe a place where you go to do outdoor activities or play a sport IELTS Speaking Cue Card:

Introduction

I’m from Patiala, where there are many locations to go for sports or other outdoor physical exercises. Some of these are government-run sports complexes like the National Institute of Sports or the Sports Complex at Punjabi University where people may participate in a range of sports like swimming, badminton, squash, and lawn tennis, as well as international cricket and hockey stadiums. Today, I’d like to talk about the National Institute of Sports, where I play Badminton with my friends.

Where it is located?

NIS – Patiala is headquartered in the Old Moti Bagh Palace, which served as the Maharajas of the Princely State of Patiala’s residence. It is India’s most ideal location for sports infrastructure.

What outdoor activities you can do at this place?

Large green spaces, swimming pools, cycling trails, and jogging tracks are accessible here, along with top-notch sports faculty, or coaches. Frankly speaking, one could claim that the best Olympian athletes are created here.

How often do you go there?

One of my college friends, whose home was only a short distance away, told me about the sports centre. I was able to become a member of the club thanks to his father’s recommendation.

So I have been playing there for the past two years. And I firmly believe that participating in sports is a fantastic method to reduce daily mental stress and maintain physical fitness. Therefore, I now make it a point to visit there at least twice a week. Moreover, the environment inside the institute is serene and a good place for the morning walk and jogging.

Why do you like this place?

This is an awesome place having the historical experience of Royal Patiala and rich sports coaching infrastructure now. Being a member of its sports circle means I have access to tons of facilities, allowing me to keep my routine fresh and exciting. The place has got its own buzz.

Concluding the Cue Card

I think that going outdoors and being surrounded by motivated people can encourage you to stay on track. Plus, having somewhere to go sounds more appealing than working out in the gym or in your living room.

So this is all about the place where I go to play badminton and other outdoor sporting activities.

1) Are outdoor activities better than indoor activities?

Both kinds of activity, in my opinion, have pros and cons of their own, and there are many elements at play. For instance, because it is difficult for people to engage in many outside activities in extremely cold or hot climates, they must rely on indoor sports to keep themselves occupied and in shape. However, people choose to appreciate nature and play outside in nations with pleasant weather.

2) What outdoor activities do young people like to do?

Running, jogging or trail running is generally the most popular outdoor recreation activity that youngsters would love to do these days. Other popular outdoor activities include Biking and Camping as well.

Outdoor team building activities for youngsters

3) Do you think that people who like to do adventurous activities are more likely to succeed?

I don’t believe there is a connection between success and risk-taking sports. Many prominent figures in the world, including scientists, politicians, and businessmen, have achieved success despite never participating in adventure sports. In reality, I barely know any ardent followers of thrilling sports who have achieved leadership success.

4) What are the benefits of sports for children?

Young kids can benefit much from sports. They become more fit physically, and sports also strengthen their minds. By participating in team sports, young children can also learn cooperation, competition, and teamwork.

5) What do you think of companies donating sports venues for poor children?

I think it’s a terrific idea to offer sports infrastructure to less fortunate children. It can aid in spotting young athletes from these regions who might not otherwise have the chance to compete in sports throughout their lifetime. It also helps businesses in creating a favourable brand image.
