  • Change is an ever happening event, a continuous process.

  • Some changes are unexpected, while others have been long anticipated and are meant to benefit us.
  • So today, I would love to talk about a positive thing that has changed my life for good.

What the change was? & When it happened?

  • When I was 16 years old, my family moved from our hometown to Delhi.
  • This was a significant change for my family, and especially for me.
  • I had to leave my school, friends, relatives, and familiar locations behind and begin living in a place full of strangers.
  • This was initially a really frustrating experience for me.
  • My life grew even more difficult once my father got me admitted to a Delhi Public school.

How it happened?

  • However, things changed after a while.
  • I rapidly met new students, and my teachers were quite helpful.
  • My parents used to take me outside every weekend, and I made a few friends at school and playmates in my neighbourhood.

Explain why it was a positive change?

  • My parents took me to areas where I saw many new things for the first time in my life, and those experiences broadened my way of thinking and caused a subtle transformation within me.
  • Moreover, the school library had a large book collection, and I read a number of literature books which were on my bucket list there.
  • I came in third place on the final exam and gradually improved my performance in the next class.

Concluding the Cue Card

  • Nowadays, whenever I encounter a new problem, I remember those times and brace myself for the inevitable.
  • Furthermore, this change made me stronger. Even leaving my school, classmates, and playmates was heartbreaking.
  • But, in the end, I dealt with it and learnt that we must continue to seize opportunities, face obstacles, and bring out the best in ourselves in order to keep up with the rhythm of life.

Sample Answer 2

Life is a roller-coaster journey, and change is a constant. Every day, we all make changes in our lives. In addition, I have made numerous adjustments in my life. So, now I’d want to discuss about a recent beneficial development in my life.

This adjustment is about making better use of one’s time. I used to be a slacker, putting no focus on time management. As a result, the majority of my job was either postponed or left undone.

But then I came upon an article in the New York Times about Effective Time Management. The author clearly discussed the benefits of time management and how it might improve someone’s life.

The author piqued my interest. As he stated, time is the most valuable commodity on the planet. We have the money to acquire gold and silver, but not the time. As a result, I started preparing a to-do list before going to bed and doing my best to complete it the next day.

This has radically altered my life. Now that I have more time, I can devote it to anything. I have time for hobbies and even visits from my siblings, who have constantly complained about my absence.

So, in the end, I can say that this has actually changed my life for the better.

Sample Answer 3

Without a doubt, we all go through some form of transition in our lives at some point in our lives. While some of these changes may go unnoticed, others can have a beneficial impact on our lives, and today I’d want to discuss one such positive adjustment.

I had numerous interests in my life, but “reading” was not one of them. Of course, I had no trouble studying academic literature in order to pass tests in schools and colleges, but when it came to studying anything else, such as storybooks, novels, or books on science, technology, and increasing life skills and knowledge, I became one of the laziest people on the planet.

My parents would even “bribe” me to acquire a reading habit, but nothing could really change my mind. But, when one of my favourite professors asked me to recommend some interesting novels to read while he was on leave for the summer approximately 4 years ago, I had no idea what to say. My teacher smiled away, understanding my awkward circumstance, but I felt extremely ’embarrassed.’ Following that encounter, I decided to purchase some books and begin reading them one page at a time.

I gradually became “addicted” to reading certain types of literature after that. I even had trouble paying for the books I was buying at one point because there were so many of them!

Anyway, I’m delighted I started reading books since it provided me a confidence boost by teaching me a lot of unknown and beautiful things about the world. Furthermore, after developing my reading habit, I developed a wonderful understanding and appreciation for various types of people from various nations, lifestyles, and backgrounds. Finally, this particular adjustment aided me in my job development by motivating me to study numerous books on “career and skill” development.

My country, I believe, is changing in a variety of ways.
