Introducing someone older than you

It is no secret that older people are the backbone of a society. Today, I feel so fortunate to tell you about a person who is elder to me and has been my inspiration since birth.

Who this person is?

Super humans.. We read about them, watch them and admire them in the fantasy world – but I know a real-life superhuman. The person is my mother! She is beautiful, charming and world’s best mom. We call her our Family manager because she’s so good in keeping us a close-knit family.

How you know this person?

I know her because she is my mother and a closest ally. There’s nothing quite as special as the unique and unbreakable relationship between a mother and a daughter. I often look up to her for inspiration and advice.

What kind of things you like to do together?

We like to cook food for the whole family together. I feel that it’s magic in her hands that makes every serving delicious. Furthermore, We both fancy shopping. Every weekend we go to the mall and check out the latest trends in women clothing. In fact, just last Saturday we both did a lot of shopping online.

Explain why you admire him/her?

I admire her because this woman looks at life as a challenge and wholeheartedly intends to seize the day every time. My mother has taught me that hard times can be overcome and that losing battles can be won. She has taught me more than I could have learnt from any book.

Youngsters and seniors have a lot to share with each other. It’s incontrovertible that many older people struggle to keep up-to-date with modern technology. That’s where youngsters can succour. Whereas, older generations can share skills such as cooking and crafting with the youth. The key is to make the time to talk.

Has old people’s life quality improved compared to the past?

Absolutely! They’ve outgrown their living standards over the period of time. Now there is intervention of technology into older peoples’ lives which lead to improved life quality. For example, access to public health facilities and life-saving medicines is now a call away.

Why is there generation gap between the young and the old?

Basically, Generation gap occurs due to difference in views and opinions between the younger and older generation. Both the generations want to uphold their principles they believe in. This gap can only be bridged by mutual respect, understanding, love & affection for each other.

What do old people usually do in their life?

Well, older people have the luxury of free time to do anything in their lives. Mostly, they are found jogging in the park, reading books in the library and listening to folk music as enjoying their favourite pastime.
