Here’s the first sample answer to Talk about a TV show you like to watch IELTS Speaking Cue Card:

Introduction

I used to watch a lot of TV shows when I was younger. But now that I’m into studying (work), I hardly ever have time to watch TV. Despite my time constraints, there is one show that I am a die-hard fan of.

What is the TV show about?

So today I am going to speak about ‘Money Heist‘ – a Spanish heist crime drama television series created by Álex Pina.

Money Heist is a show that broke down barriers to become one of the most well-liked, popular, and watched TV programmes in the entire world. The programme premiered in 2017, and since then, the buzz about it hasn’t stopped. La Casa De Papel, the show’s original name, struck a chord with viewers all over the world because of what it stands for.

When do you watch it? & Who do you watch it with?

I watch every latest episode telecasted on Fridays along with my elder sister. She is also an ardent follower of the TV show.

Why do you like to watch it?

Money Heist is unique and odd because of the small details that are exploited for rebellious meaning. The show’s trademark red overalls and Dali mask are representations of resistance and insurrection. The names of each member of the heist squad are taken from well-known cities around the globe.

It is reflective of how the system everywhere is just the same, corrupt and feeding off the hard work of the common man.

Concluding the Cue Card

The show attracted criticism for being “hyped” and “overrated” especially as it gained popularity. However, I feel that Money Heist seemed to resonate with viewers all over the world.

And as the title of the documentary rightly says, Money Heist is not just a show, it’s a phenomenon!

In addition to this, people enjoy watching sports, news, soap operas, dramas, comedies, and reality television. But I personally like to watch

2) Do you like watching foreign countries’ TV shows?

Yes, I am a die-hard fan of Hollywood and South Korean thriller TV shows. The films are full of excitement, adventure, and wonderful CGI action. Some films, like Avatar, Passenger, and The Martian, are outside of what we often imagine or think, and they make me feel as though I’m in another universe.

3) Do you think watching TV shows can be educational for children?

Yes, I am of the view that most Kids’ shows running on TV right now are educational in nature. For instance, Discovery Science and Nat Geo Kids telecast shows that teach children about subjects they might not otherwise be exposed to. Not only this, television can augment what kids learn in school and give them additional ways to learn about important topics.

Positive and Negative Effects of Television on Children

4) What is the benefit of letting kids watch animal videos instead of visiting a zoo?

The only benefit I can think of is that the animal videos can be watched right from the comfort of your home. On the other hand, letting the kids visit a Zoo has tonnes of benefits. A zoo is a place where the kids find real care and nurture. When children visit a zoo they learn and realise the importance of environmental awareness and its impact on people’s lives. It helps them become better and kinder.
