Here’s the first sample answer to Describe an object you find particularly beautiful IELTS Speaking Cue Card:

Introduction

Skyscrapers are everywhere in Mumbai, the place from where I come. However, I want to particularly focus on this beautiful object, The Great Bell, also known as the Rajabai Clock Tower.

What the artwork/object is?

The Rajabai Tower is a clock tower in South Mumbai, India. It is contained within the walls of the University of Mumbai’s Fort campus. The tower is part of The Victorian and Art Deco Ensemble of Mumbai, which was added to the list of World Heritage Sites in 2018.

Where did you see it?

Actually, the tower stands right on the path where I drive every day. So, I get to see it every morning and evening while going from work to the office and vice-versa.

What it looks like?

The clock has become a cultural symbol of my city. When a television or film-maker wishes to indicate a generic location of Mumbai, a popular way to do so is to show an image of the tower, often with a red double-decker bus in the foreground. Additionally, Maharashtra’s New Year celebrations are centred on The Rajabai Tower.

In fact, this tall object has a conventional Neo-Gothic design. It’s the biggest and most precise four-faced striking and chiming clock in the nation if I’m not mistaken.

You’d never believe it, It has a height of 85 metres (280 feet, or 25 stories)… which is HUGE!

Explain why you find it particularly beautiful?

One of the key factors making this magnificent structure such a stunning object is its historical significance. Additionally, I enjoy going to the Clock Tower since it is well-placed in the southern part of the city next to the seashore, where you can always see the beauty of the ocean waves all at once.

Concluding the Cue Card

Finally, I’d just want to state that our city’s pride is the Rajabai Tower.

MODEL ANSWER 2

There are all sorts of wonders in this world that will awe-struck you every time you see them. So today, I would like to mention one of the most magnificent and spectacular sculptures in the entire world, drawing thousands of visitors daily from all over the globe.

The Statue of Liberty, located on Liberty Island in New York, is a historical sculpture that the French gave to the USA as a gift to signify their mutual love of freedom and liberty. Formally titled Liberty Enlightening the World, the statue depicts a crowned Liberty, personified as a woman, lifting up a torch with her right hand.

Last year my cousin visited the US with his family. So I saw this stunning object while browsing through his photographs. I became so fond of it that I searched all its history.

There are several reasons why I particularly find this object beautiful. Visiting Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty is an inspiring, striking experience. It is the Mother of Exiles, greeting millions of immigrants and embodying future and opportunity for those seeking a better life in America

The Statue of Liberty started as a romantic idea and became the most monumental gift in American history. Today, it stands as a singular symbol of hope and spirit.

FOLLOW-UP QUESTIONS

Following are the probable set of IELTS Speaking Part-3 follow-up questions for Describe an object you find particularly beautiful cue card:

1) Do you think there are more beautiful things now than in the past?

Personally, I think traditional sculptures and paintings are much more stunning. I believe that in the past, finding patrons in the form of monarchs and nobles was simpler, allowing artists to concentrate on their work without having to worry about money.

Today, nevertheless, it is considerably more difficult to support oneself as an artist. That is also reflected in the art being created now; it is done more as a pastime than as a job, and the works created are significantly less advanced than those of the past.

2) Do you think there are many scenic spots in India or there are many more in other countries?

India, in my opinion, is one of the most diversified nations. Mountains, rivers, deserts, beaches, and ancient caves are all present in this god’s own country. Furthermore, it has one of the most extensive cultural histories. In this aspect, I believe India has an edge over other countries.

That being said, European countries are also blessed with mystifying scenic spots.

3) Where do you think people usually come into contact with beautiful things?

Whenever people visit natural landscapes, heritage places, or regional festivals, they come into contact with beautiful snow-capped mountains, historical buildings, or diverse cultures.

4) Why do you think people create beautiful things?

People create beautiful things because they think that it’s a way of bringing good into the world. Infused with optimism, it says simply: life is worthwhile.

I think we all should invest time in the creation of beautiful things. Take the time, once per week to create: bake, draw, paint, dance — whatever we like to feel creative.
