Frequently Asked Questions
A cue card in the IELTS Speaking test is a task card consisting of a topic and a set of 4 questions. There are also some instructions given on the card to guide you on how to answer those questions.
You’ll be given 01 minute to think about the topic and generate ideas. Use the paper and a pencil to note down every thought that comes to your mind. List them in the form of points against every question given on the card.
It’ll be the examiner who will stop you at the end of two minutes. Try to speak unceasingly until he or she declares an end to the cue card.
Start off with a measured pace, not too fast and not too slow. Learn some opening sentences that will get you off to a great start with Part 2 of your IELTS Speaking exam. Finally, don’t forget to use contractions to get a better score for your pronunciation.
